ANNOYED ADVANI KEEPS DISTANCE


Modi, Advani cold vibes visible at Jethmalani party New Delhi, Sept 15 (PTI) The cold vibes between Narendra Modi and L K Advani, who has been unhappy over his nomination as BJP Prime Ministerial candidate, were visible when the two leaders ran into each other at a party to celebrate Ram Jethmalani's 90th birthday here tonight. Modi bent down before Advani in a sign of respect and then took his seat close by with Jethmalani in the middle. Advani and Modi exchanged pleasantries but hardly talked to each other. Advani, who was against the party naming Modi as its PM candidate before the upcoming assembly polls to five states, had stayed away from the crucial BJP Parliamentary Board meeting on Friday when the decision was announced. The same day Advani shot off a letter to Singh expressing anguish and disappointment over the BJP president's style of functioning. After his anointment, Modi had driven to Advani's residence to seek his blessings.

Researchers have found that B cells, blood cells involved in the human immune response, promote inflammation and bone loss in type 2 diabetes-associated periodontal disease. These findings support the idea that treatments that manipulate the responses of B cells may treat or prevent this complication. "Our study identified common inflammatory mechanisms shared by type 2 diabetes and periodontal disease. It paves the way for the development of novel therapeutics which aim to simultaneously treat both type 2 diabetes and its complications," said Min Zhu, a researcher involved in the work from the department of microbiology at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.
