MODI TO FOCUS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Asking people's support to script a glorious future for India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tonight said he would be using social media to communicate with people across the world as he believed in a platform where views are shared. "I am a firm believer in the power of technology and social media to communicate with people across the world. I hope this platform creates opportunities to listen, learn and share one's views," he said in his letter to fellow Indians and citizens of the world. The letter posted on the official website of the Prime Minister said, "Through this website you (people) will also get all the latest information about my speeches, schedules, foreign visits and lot more. "I will also keep informing you about innovative initiatives undertaken by the government of India." He said the May 16 verdict delivered a mandate for development, good governance and stability. "As we devote ourselves to take India's development journey to newer heights, we seek your support, blessings and active participation. "Together we will script a glorious future for India. Let us together dream of a strong, developed and inclusive India that actively engages with the global community to strengthen the cause of world peace and development." 
The website also gives an insight of Modi's firm belief that transparency and accountability are the two cornerstones of any pro-people government. "Transparency and accountability not only connect the people closer to the government but also make them equal and integral part of the decision making process," the section 'Quest for Transparency' in the official website said. It said that during his record four terms as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Modi demonstrated strong commitment to an open and transparent government. "Rules and policies were not framed in AC chambers but among the people. Draft policies were put online for people to give their feedback and suggestions. "At the same time, initiatives such as 'Garib Kalyan Melas' ensured that fruits of development directly reach the poor without any red tape." It said model of 'One Day Governance' focused on providing time-bound services to the citizens by leveraging the e-governance infrastructure. The main objective of this was to ensure provision of all government-to-citizen services covered under the Citizens' Charter. Modi's strong resolve to transparency backed by the manner in which he put this commitment to practice indicates an era of open, transparent and people-centric government for the people of India, it said.

Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi should come up with "substantive arguments" to criticise the government's Make In India programme rather than ridiculing its logo. BULLION ASSOCIATION SUPPORTS MODI The Bombay Bullion Association Ltd (BBA), the apex body of bullion and jewellery bodies in the country, has announced its support for Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as BJP's prime ministerial candidate. BBA president Mohit Kamboj along with some others joined BJP in the presence of senior party leader Gopinath Munde here yesterday.
