55 Ex MINISTERS TO VACATE BUNGLOWS

After losing elections and power, about 55 former union ministers will have to vacate their official bungalows by June 26 to enable the new ones to move in. Sources said the Directorare of Estates is preparing to send notices to them to vacate their bungalows. There were 70 ministers in UPA out of which some have won while many lost in the recent Lok Sabha elections. Those who have lost will be asked to vacate by June 26, the sources said.
"There are about 55 Type-VI, Type-VII and Type-VIII bungalows to be vacated for the newly-appointed ministers," a source said about the houses located in the prime areas of New Delhi.
In the meantime, Dirctorate of Estates is providing transit accommodation to all new MPs at state bhawans and state-owned Ashoka hotel.
Once the new Lok Sabha Housing committee is formed, it will start allotting houses to MPs.
Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu today appealed to the former ministers to vacate their official residences on their own and set a good example. "Outgoing ministers have to vacate their houses. I request the outgoing ministers to vacate at the earliest so that the new ministers can move in and settle down. They have their plans, puja and all this. They should vacate so that they set a good example to the people and there is no problem," he said here. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has already vacated the official 7,Race Course Road residence, and shifted to a new house allotted by the government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, however, is yet to move in to the official residence as it is being refurbished.

Dubai, which boasts of the world's highest tennis court, may also become home to the first underwater tennis centre where spectators can watch games from below or above the sea life through a massive glass dome. Krzysztof Kotala, a Polish architect who owns a studio in Warsaw, is currently seeking investment from local players to make the ambitious project a reality. Interestingly, the proposed location for the project (arguably one of the world's lowest tennis courts) is just next door to the highest tennis court atop the Burj al Arab skyscraper in Dubai. "There is not an investor but I would like to get interest (from them) as I think it is a good idea," Kotala, 30, was quoted as saying by a local magazine. When asked why he chose Dubai for his project, Kotala said the Gulf city had a rich tradition of tennis. "This will be something original. This should be somewhere where there is the tradition of tennis. Dubai is perfect for this idea," he said. The in…
