MOROCCO, GREENLAND MOST SEARCHED SPOTS

Unconventional tourist destinations like Morocco, Bhutan and Greenland topped the list of most popular 'searched' summer holiday destinations, showed a recent survey.
Based on the destination 'searches', the survey suggested that Indians are now becoming more experimental and adventurous in exploring new places to visit.
"Indians have become more experimental when it comes to travel this summer season. In the spirit of exploration, they are looking for longer, expensive trips and are searching for newer destinations," Skyscanner India Senior Marketing Manager Kavitha Gnanamurthy said.
The north African country Morocco topped the list of most 'searched' tourist hotspot with the country witnessing a 261 per cent jump in searches compared to last year over the same period.
Bhutan, a popular but remote backpacking route located at the eastern end of the Himalayas - witnessed a staggering 244 per cent increase in overall searches.
Similarly, Greenland has witnessed over 240 per cent rise in searches, the survey pointed out.
The civil unrest in Thailand has not waned travellers' interest and searches for the country has grown by over 214 per cent.
The UAE has also attracted travellers' curiosity this year with an over all 204 per cent growth in searches, it said.
Known for its Roman architecture, serene coastal landscape and mountains, Croatia emerged to be one of the most searched European countries with a year on year growth of 152 per cent.
Among the Indian destinations, places such as Srinagar, Goa, Kochi and Port Blair were the most searched tourist spots, the survey showed.

WILL NIFTY FALL BELOW 2000?

Correlating the ups and down in the Indian rupee with the stock market, Vijay Bhambwani, CEO, bsplindia.com, suggests that if the rupee continues with its downward fall, the Indian stock market may fall breach October lows and fall further. “If the rupee falls below the 53.0-53.50 mark vis-a-vis the USD, expect a mini meltdown atleast in the equity markets.
